Rail Traction Inverter Test System
The rail inverter test system uses a pulse test methodology to verify proper operation of the IGBT switching elements in a subway car motor control. The system is designed to verify proper commutation of the switching elements. A large capacitor bank allows testing at DC voltages up to 1kV and peak currents of up to 3kA into reactive loads.The system also integrates self test capabilities and safe-to-turn-on (STTO) diagnostics to ensure no gross faults are present prior to the application of high voltages. A key feature of our rotary switches is their simple mechanical design which results in conservative stress levels for trouble-free, long life use. In addition, each rotary switch has a reinforced chassis design utilizing G-10 or G-11 fire retardant anti-tracking coated epoxy glass insulation. G-7 silicone glass is used for special applications where RF or high temperatures are involved. Heavy duty contacts, specifically designed to minimize corona in the Ross rotaries, are made of highly conductive yet weld resistant alloy with high contact closing force. This high force gives our rotary switches high momentary current capability and a reputation for their ability to withstand high shock and vibration as well as other severe environmental conditions. Ratings to 150kV, to 200A. When immersed in insulating oil, fluid or gas, the voltage withstand value is at least doubled and the interrupt capability is much greater. In a gas atmosphere, no modification is required. However, immersion in oil or fluid may require modification in some cases, at an extra cost (optional). Each unit is either manually or electrically operated. One SPDT contact is standard on most units. The auxiliary contact is used as an interlock for protection against "Switching Hot".

Aerospace and Aviation Solutions
SCOEs and EGSEs by LXinstruments are used during test and validation of satellite assemblies and modules in aerospace applications. As an example, we implemented solar array simulators, battery simulators and high-power load racks for a German satellite manufacturer for testing satellite power supply systems. Due to the high power ratings, the systems are partially equipped with water cooling. Specialized switching modules were developed for switching DC currents at high voltage levels; these can be programmed with SCPI commands via Ethernet.Our modular OTP² functional test platform is ideally suited for implementing durable, reliable test systems, e. g. for in-flight entertainment applications. Since the OTP2 platform is based on open interfaces, it can be quickly and easily adapted to any required communication busses and ARINC interfaces.

The control panel forms the top of the case, it is finished in high gloss light blue stoving with cutter engraved labelling, and is protected by a detachable lid. The EHT outlet is of a recessed type designed to prevent accidental contact with high voltages. Surge repetition is electronically controlled from 0 to 10 seconds, a single surge or a train of pulses can be selected by a panel mounted switch. Automatic discharge of the instrument is achieved by a gravity operated switch which is released on switching 'OFF' the instrument or on disconnecting the supply.
