Light-Guided Connector Assembly | Cable & Harness Tester
CableEye Light Director System
Our Light Director™ system (patented) provides a computer-guided technique for assembling connectors used in aerospace, medical, and other high-reliability applications. This system uses light fibers driven by super-bright LED lamps to individually illuminate target cavities in the connector being assembled. When the technician enters the wire code printed on unconnected wires, or touches a wire connected at the other end, the CableEye software turns on the appropriate fiber, thereby causing a bright, flashing light to project from inside the target cavity guiding the technician to the proper insertion point. Correct insertion is confirmed by the elimination of light from that location, whereas insertion into an incorrect location leaves the flashing light visible.

Digital VIS-SWIR Camera
OWL 1280
Using a 1280 x 1024 InGaAs sensor from SCD, the OwL 1280 offers visible extension from 0.6µm to 1.7µm to enable high sensitivity imaging. The 10µm x 10µm pixel pitch enables the highest resolution imaging. It will offer less than 28 electrons readout noise (rms) and with a high intra-scene dynamic range of 51dB, this enables simultaneous capture of bright & dark portions of a scene. Available with a 12 bit medium Camera Link digital output, the Owl 1280 will run from 10 to 60Hz. The camera features an on-board Automated Gain Control (AGC) which enables the best contrast image from low to bright light. The camera also has an on-board intelligent 3 point Non Uniform Correction (NUC) providing the highest quality images. As with all Raptor cameras, the Owl 1280 is ultra compact and rugged. The camera sensor temperature is stabilised to 15°C and the camera does not have a fan.

Dymax UV and visible radiometers are simple to operate and allow operators to monitor and document a UV/Visible light curing process. A low UV/Visible intensity measurement signals an operator to replace the bulb, reflector, or lightguide. PDS Excavator Monitoring System
It shows a real time overview of the excavator in navigation, profile, and 3D views; displaying the dredge tool, pontoon/vessel, design depths, and color-coded digital terrain model (DTM). A new ultraviolet spectrophotometer system for optical metrology just arrived at NASA Goddard! The VUVAS-10X spectrophotometer works best in the 90 to 160 nanometer wavelength range, also known as deep or vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) region. It uses a windowless hydrogen plasma light source and differential pump section to reach many wavelengths beyond those of conventional deuterium lamps. The source also works with other gases, or gas mixtures, for atomic spectral line emission from about 30 nanometers (double ionized Helium gas) up to the Visible light range. The new spectrophotometer system, McPherson VUVAS-10X, uses a one-meter focal length high-resolution monochromator with the special light source, scintillated detector and Model 121 goniometric sample chamber. The system is ideal for optical transmission, absorbance and specular reflectance at incident angles up to 60 degrees. This McPherson spectrophotometer system will help develop, inspect and qualify optical materials and coatings used for very high altitude and extraterrestrial space flight missions.
